Obviously it would be lovely to hand everything over to someone else and reduce the stress, but that would be the most costly option. The couple and the planner can agree what level of involvement she will have.

There may be some aspects of the planning where you would like more control. Maybe you have friends in catering who would help to arrange that aspect of the event. You may be able to do most of the practical tasks and just use your consultant for creative input, choosing a theme, planning decorations etc.
